Nights of Villjamur is another of those newer books combining many different genre elements. It's fantasy, but set in the far-future of another world at the beginning of an ice age. Also politics and crime noir, and even some zombies, though thankfully the zombies are used sparingly. Plot is a piecemeal and characterization is erratic. I couldn't shake the feeling the book was merely setup. Overall, a quite interesting book. Not sure if I'll read the sequel yet.
